For those of you in the Love Bites Swap group on Ravelry, you can now view the Vamp Camp Collection yarns on my Flickr page.
For those of you NOT in the group…you can still go see the yarns, but you can’t have any until January 18th when they are released to the etsy shop. ;)

Who, me??
Be MIA for two months? Never!
Ok, well maybe. Sorry ’bout that…
I could write a big, long explanation about being busy and sick and on vacation, but how about I just have a shop update instead? Yeah, I thought that would be better too.
So tomorrow, January 8th at 10am Arizona time, I’m gonna put up a few yarn pretties. Two new colorways, in two weights and three bases. Here’s a peek:
- Jeweled Spruce – Cashmere Fingering
- Cinders – Smart Luxe (80/10/10 M/C/N)
Happy New Year everyone; here’s to a great 2009! :D

Love Bites, Love Bleeds…
There’s a new pattern up! It’s a scarf pattern inspired by Fresh from the Cauldron’s True Blood Colorways. If you’re a fan of Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels, or a fan of the HBO show True Blood based on them, you should check it out. :) And make sure you hop on over to SquibStitcher’s etsy shop and order your custom skein of Eric or Bill (or Sam or Sookie or Pam… you get the idea). My scarf is made from the Silky Sock base and it’s lovely. I can’t wait to wrap up in him, er, I mean it. ;)
And see that adorable stitch marker? You can get your own set here.
And to all of you who will now spend the rest of the day singing that Def Leppard song…you’re welcome.

Happy Day!
Two happy things today: First, it’s my little guy’s 5th birthday! We had his party this past Sunday and I have managed to stuff myself full of cupcakes in the days immediately preceeding and following said party. All in the name of taste-testing dontcha know… ;-)
Funny story on that party day…I had waited until the night before the party to wrap and display boy’s gifts from us and from the grandparents, just to make sure there wasn’t TOO much temptation in his little life. And when I brought them down he was over-the-moon excited and wanted to know when, oh when, he would get to open them. I was happy to explain that he would only need to wait until tomorrow to do so.
Fast forward to the next morning…at the butt-crack of dawn when I was roused from a dream by the sounds of rustling paper and exclamations like “oh my gosh!” and “I can’t believe it!”. I immediately knew what was happening and threw myself out of bed and down the stairs yelling “NOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!”, but it was too late… I got down there to see him standing in the middle of all his unwrapped presents.
“But I get to open them today because today is my party…”
I was horrified, and totally felt cheated out of my picture-taking rights, but I DID say he could open them that day. I guess in the future I need to be more “time-frame specific”. *sigh*
So the other happy news is that there’s been a shop update! Lots of stuff with something for everyone: handspun, fiber, sock yarn… ENJOY!

Nudging Fall
It’s officially Fall, but here in Arizona it sometimes needs a little prompting… I’m having a Fall Sale over at the shop: all fiber and yarn is 15% off! Even if it doesn’t bring the temperatures down, it’ll still make you happy. :)

Wall o’ Dirt
You know, living in Arizona has a few perks. Probably the biggest one is that you never really need to check the weather. If you’re planning a pinic or barbeque you don’t really have to worry about being rained out. And this is a HUGE deal for someone like me who grew up in Louisiana. You take your fate into your own hands if you plan an outdoor event there. Now that being said, sometimes there are things that happen here that are not, well, NORMAL. Case in point, a dust storm. I’m pretty sure that dirt should not be lifted from the ground and formed into a wall and then forced forward into anything and everything in its path. But here? That’s exactly what happens. I caught a picture of the storm that blew through here last week (click to embiggen):

The Sugar Daddy called me on his way home from work that day to tell me about it, which was fortunate since I had some goodies hanging out to dry in the sun. THAT could have been ugly. But everything was saved, and today I listed a few of them in the shop, go have a peek! :)

My Highest Regards
My latest free pattern, Highly Regarded Mitts, is up on the Patterns page! You can also find it on Ravelry. Some quick and easy fingerless mitts which use just a small bit of bulky weight yarn – mine use handspun of course. *wink*
Also, there’s been an update in the shop today, go check it out!
I happened to glance down the side yard this morning, and imagine my surprise when this met my gaze:
Well hello there beautiful! How could I not run and grab my camera? A couple more pics of this sunny beauty on my Flickr page.
